About us

Paideia Filmes is a company dedicated to the development and production of audiovisual content for cinema, television and new media. The company focuses on the production of films and series from different formats and genres (documentary, fiction, and animation), in partnership with directors, scriptwriters, and other producers.

 

Our portfolio includes the feature-length documentaries Elections (102 ', 2018), Platamama (72', 2018), and My Body is Political (71 '/ 52', 2017), which was released in Brazilian movies theatres in November 2017. This film, directed by Alice Riff, was awarded Best Brazilian Feature Film at the 6th Curitiba International Film Festival and won a special Jury Award at the Lovers Film Festival - Torino LGBTQI Visions (Italy), with screenings at important festivals such as Visions du Réel (Switzerland) , Bafici (Argentina) and Havana Film Festival (Cuba).

 

Also in 2017, Guigo Offline (52 ', TV Cultura, 2017), directed by René Guerra, was awarded with Best Brazilian Feature Film at Mix Brazil 2017 and the Best Film and Best Direction award at the 11th For Rainbow (Festival of Cinema and Culture of Sexual Diversity) in Fortaleza city (Brazil), being screened in themed festivals such as Canada Kids Film Festival and Espacio Queer in Argentina.

 

The first project of Paideia Filmes is the award-winning short film, Marina’s Ocean (17', 2014), directed and scripted by Cássio Pereira dos Santos. This film was honored with 24 awards and screened at more than 60 national and international festivals, including countries such as Italy, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Holland, England, USA, Canada, Argentina and Chile, winning awards at the Int'l Children's Film Festival of New York, Taiwan, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and ComKIDS Festival - Prix Jeuneusse Iberoamericano 2015. In addition, the film has been licensed for TVs in the US, Japan, Switzerland, Argentina, and Brazil.

 

Currently, we are promoting the feature documentary Elections, directed by Alice Riff, selected by Videocamp Fund 2017. It was screened in the official selections of Dok Leipzig (World Première) and Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival (Brazilian Première).
